Brand new
4 stroke Vortex 6.5 hp side shaft engine. This engine is
equipped with an on/off switch, choke and throttle. The
throttle can be operated via lever or by throttle cable,
depending on your application. The displacement is 9.9 cu. in.
with a maximum output of 5.4 Bhp at 3,600 rpm. The dimensions
for the motor are 14.5 L x 13. W x 13.8 H. This engine comes
with a horizontal straight shaft. The shaft is 3/4" diameter,
2 1/4" long with a 3/16" keyway....the industry standard on
this type engine. The end of the shaft is also tapped for
screw-in applications (pulley, centrifugal clutch,
Torqe-a-verter, etc). The side is bored and
tapped for mounting applications, such as a comet
Torqe-a-verter, etc...It also features a low oil shut off, so
if you run this engine low on oil, it will automatically shut
off, thus preventing damage and unnecessary/premature wear. An
owner's manual is included for cranking, maintenance, and
warranty information (1 yr factory limited

Torq-A-Verter, for a engine with a 3/4" diameter crankshaft.
Drives a 10 tooth sprocket, #41 chain. The Torq-A-Verter is a
fully automatic variable speed drive system. There are no
gears, no complicated controls or levers and neither manual
shifting nor clutching is involved in these systems.The unique
design of the movable face in each driver and driven member
causes automatic infinite variation and thus smooth shifting
action between the system's low and high range in immediate
response to changing load and/or travel conditions..with
constant optium ratio between engine and drive wheels ensuring
that you get the use of all the power your engine develops.
Since ratio selection and "down-shifting" is automatic,
braking and vehicle control are enhanced. The Torq-A-Verter
system engages at 2200 rpm. As the engine throttle is "opened"
the drive belt engages, driving the driven unit at it's
largest diameter. This is the most powerful ratio of the
system (2.7:1). At the highest speed (overdrive) and lowest
load demand the driven unit pulley flanges are wide open
providing the smallest possible belt contact diameter. The
drive unit pulley flanges are closed to provide the largest
possible belt contact diameter. This gives the system an
overdrive ratio of .90:1.
